The AP529 “70 Days to Spring” Countdown

I was scrolling through social media feeds earlier today and came across an edit with all of the BTS members in their last photos before entering the military, along with videos of their discharge ceremonies. Watching the compilation made me stop and think about this project, how far we’ve come, how long ARMY waited, the state of anticipation we are in now, and the thrilling events “Yet to Come”.

When ARMY Project 529 first began, we were staring down a long stretch of waiting. One by one, the members of BTS stepped into military service and ARMY felt a mix of pride, sadness, uncertainty. We asked ourselves, “How are we going to get through this?”

Well, the first answer to that was: not alone. Because we here at AP529 never Bangtan alone.

The second answer: we counted.

We marked the time together with 100-day countdowns—not just to watch numbers fall, but to remind ourselves that waiting doesn’t have to be lonely. Each countdown became a shared experience—a place to gather, to remember, to celebrate, and to hold space for what BTS has meant to us individually and collectively.

And now… here we are. This time, we aren’t counting down to individual returns. We’re counting down to the group’s return.

Introducing the AP529 “70 Days to Spring” Countdown

Starting now, AP529 is launching “70 Days to Spring”. We’re counting down to the release of BTS’ comeback album, and yes, the symbolism is intentional. 🌸

Spring is all about return—the light is returning after a long season of quietly sitting in a shady spot waiting to see a single ray of sunshine. Or seven.

For the next 70 days, we’ll be sharing a quote from one of you—an AP529 member—reflecting on a favorite BTS memory or moment.

Not rankings.

Not any “best of” lists.

Just real memories from the real people that we (AP529 Admin) love so much. YOU!

The moments that made YOU laugh.

The quotes that carried YOU through a hard season.

The concert night YOU will never forget.

The lyric that you returned to again and again when YOU needed it most.

The first time YOU realized, oh… this matters to me. They matter.

Why This Countdown Matters

This project may have started off as a way to just make it through enlistment, but it has become so much more.

It’s been about staying connected. About remembering why we’re here. About honoring the journey of BTS and ARMY together.

We are not doing this countdown to rush time forward. We want to look back with gratitude while we move ahead together.

Every moment we share is a reminder that BTS didn’t just create music—they created memories and connections that ripple across the globe in ways we can’t fully measure, but somehow understand completely.

ARMY Project 529 exists because of that ripple.

We Count Together

If you’ve been with us since the first countdown, thank you.

If you joined somewhere in the middle, we’re so glad you found us.

If you’re newer and still figuring out where you fit—welcome! You belong here too.

For the next 70 days, let’s remember together.

Let’s celebrate together.

Let’s step into this next season with the same hearts that carried us through the last one.

Spring is coming. Bangtan is coming. And I can’t think of a better way to count down than by doing it together. We’re almost there!!!
