BTS: Who is Jin?

Let's shine a spotlight on none other than the one and only Kim Seokjin, also known as Jin! You've probably seen his infectious smile and heard his powerful vocals, but who is Jin beyond the stage persona?

As the eldest member of BTS, Jin brings a sense of maturity and stability to the group. He's like the dependable older brother who's always there to offer sage advice and keep everyone grounded. Whether he's cracking dad jokes, showing off his quirky personality on variety shows, or hamming it up for the camera during Run BTS! episodes, Jin always brings laughter and joy to everyone around him.

His honey-like vocals can soothe your soul and send shivers down your spine. From emotional ballads to upbeat anthems, Jin's voice adds an extra layer of depth and emotion to BTS's music, and his ballads have become a place of comfort for me.

I don't know Jin, not like I do the other members of BTS. I hadn't been into BTS for long when he enlisted, so I haven't had the "alone time" with Jin that I have with Namjoon, Yoongi, Hobi, Jimin, Tae, and Jungkook. I've seen him in a ton of content but only recently started watching him—almost studying him—and not in a creepy way.

His personality didn't fit with mine. I'm subdued, and very outgoing people can give me a little anxiety because I feel like I have to save up my energy to spend time together. And I'm not a person who loves dad jokes and that loud type of humor—or I wasn't—before Jin.

"... then he flings it."

That statement changed my life and the way I look at situations. Hearing Jin say those four words pushed me to study him more. And what I've come to learn about him, and the thing that I admire most, is that he loves his brothers well.

I admire how he cares for and looks after the six. He stays out of the light much of the time to let his brothers shine, but then, using humor, he pulls the spotlight onto himself when he sees any of them struggle or are in pain. He hates seeing them in pain.

Our Moon loves them well. And he loves us, ARMY. We all feel it - especially when he yells - "AHMI!"

I could go on and on about Jin, but it's not my opinion of him that you came here for. It's for the opinion of the many other 529line that have shared what they love about our World Wide Handsome and the best hyung to a group of six amazing men ever to exist.

Jin is the oldest member who never takes advantage of that position. He’s thoughtful, kind and is the caretaker of the group. He’s beautiful inside and out. He acknowledges he’s not the best dancer, but to not let his teammates down, he practiced more so than any member. He scares easily and yet, I think he’s so courageous. - Josefina H

Jin is a good humble man. He accepts and embraces that others in the group are more talented than he is etc at the same time, he is a hard worker, has improved and doesn't give himself as much credit as he should. Dont come for me but I honestly think he is a better solo singer than when he has parts in group songs. He has limited time and lyrics in each song and it just seems to me that his voice gets over shadowed. He gets to shine when it's just his songs. Epiphany is my favorite and I'm really looking forward to his solo album. Jin is a goober, doesn't take himself seriously and I sure can't either because he's so funny. He's a big kid and always seems to be in a good mood and makes light of any situation. He has the best intentions and a good heart. Hes mentioned many times over the years that he would love to marry and cook with his wife. I get the impression he would have no problem choosing marriage over fame. My favorite Jin is when he gets all worked up over something and "rants" a mile a minute!!! - Michelle

JWWH , world wide handsome is how he refers to himself . He's the most senior member of BTS and an incredibly talented, funny , good looking human. He cares deeply for army and all the members of the band. He does not put himself above anyone else and is very down to earth. He is an extrovert who loves to make people around him laugh and by doing that he makes them feel comfortable. His voice is incredible! Jin is a perfect senior member of BTS and it would not be the same without him. Looking forward to the day he returns from his military service having done a sterling job at his training camp and then putting young soldiers through their paces in kind and respectful manner as their trainer. Jin is unforgetable !! His parents must be so proud of him, just as we are! - Pam G
